It means the books are relatable enough to be loved and unique enough to cause an impact. It’s the sign of a good writer when the people who resonate with their books are unable to find the exact same thing elsewhere. For me personally, no other book will ever compare to the love I have for Normal People - a novel that hit me so hard and felt so overwhelming relatable that I’ve now read it three times and counting. If you love Sally Rooney’s writing, then you know that there’s no other book that can replace the unique experience of reading her words.
